We, or I at least, got to be naive and think that what’s written in DatteBayo’s Press Releases is always serious business. Hopefully, I will be wrong. This time (#35) they’ve written a sort of follow-up from their last one (#34) and it seems they’re low on the dough.

Guess what. Profits are down again, Pokemon ratings are dropping faster than iPhone sales, and since we were refused entry to Otakon, we need to get into 20 other less relevant anime cons, and most importantly - Naruto and Bleach keep showing up on Youtube and other crap video upload sites regularly, so here’s the deal: Pokemon reaches 100k downloads per episode within 24 hours, or else Naruto is permanently dropped*.
You heard it here first.
*Note: Only the English, French, and Portuguese-Brazilian versions of Naruto will be dropped. We will still release the Hebrew sub.

I’m seeing it with a naive perspective and I do like getting my Shippuuden from DatteBayo every Thursday, but I won’t - let me boldly repeat that - I won’t download and spread Pokemon. As sailors usually use condoms when they get ashore - you know, better safe than sorry - I won’t download it. I’d gladly accept it if I had to spread Pitagora Suitchi around the world, but not Pokemon, oh no!
As of now (4th July) the only episode of Pokemon Diamond And Pearl that has been downloaded over 100 000 times is #001 (exact downloads: 104629).
Could this be the end of DatteBayo’s fansubbing Naruto? Only time and traffic numbers will show…
