Update: Theeeeeeeeeey’re baaaaaaaaaaaaack!
Were back! We suffered some server problems as you might have noticed.
But here we are! Running strong again. There is a expected server outage sometime in
the coming week or so, more about that later.
Ohh, and here’s the Simpsons Movie (swe subs)!
Remember I told you about Joox.net, a great online streaming site? Do you also remember I said that problem with internet nowadays, is that there was too many Illegal-Content Hunters out there? Well, Joox is gone now, beaten to death by those hunters, and I found some answers about it.
Joox never hosted their own stuff, as you’ve might’ve noticed. It was all Stage6’s work. Stage6 is DivX’s own YouTube-wannabe but they’re focused on high quality by using their own DivX-player (which is quite good). On their blog I found this post that explained why Joox lost all its content and is now unpingable:
Just because you don’t get caught, doesn’t mean it isn’t wrong. We’ve fielded a lot of questions lately about our takedown policy. More specifically, “Why the **** did you delete my movie?” There are essentially three reasons why the video you uploaded would or could be removed:
- 1. We see it and believe it violates copyright;
- 2. We’re told by a person claiming to own it that it violates his or her copyright; or
- 3. We don’t like it – it’s bad for the community.
Before we delve into each of these three reasons, let me give a simple explanation of copyright. Copyright protects an artist’s original expressions from being unfairly used or copied by others. An “artist” can be a painter, an author, a songwriter, a filmmaker, or anyone else expressing ideas in a fixed media.
Of course we all knew, or should’ve known, that the movies/series/animes/whatever was breaching and ass-raping the copyrights, but it made my days when I had nothing to do at work for the last two weeks. Also, I believe alot of people got to download the movies that was hosted so at least someone’ve made something good out of it.
I put the (unconfirmed) in the title because Joox may be back, if they can find another page that’ll let them upload copyright-violating movies and such. I’ll be watching South Park while eating lunch today, as South Park Zone is still up and running.

First of all thank your for your informations.
I’ve just found it weird that there is nothing like “Sorry but service is terminated” on Joox.net. Hope it’s back soon.
Second: YEAH! South Park was the only show I’ve watched on Joox and I was so sad that Joox is offline. You made my day =)
Thanks a lot!
Daniel

Hmm… very weird. I had a comment on my website from the person that runs joox (apparently) who said it was just having server problems and would be back up and running soon… http://www.mymindwanders.com/blog/?p=94

No problem, enjoy your South Park, mate. We can only hope it’ll return in it’s former shape and

Interesting notice, though it wouldn’t kill their servers to put up a notice, right? Thanks for the URL.

Well, sounds like it really is down… don’t dispair, though - check out podnix.com. It’s a little disorganized but if you browse their unsorted section you’ll find many cool shows and movies (and music videos)

Thanks for the URL. There’s also another site called veoh.com. It doesn’t have much Futurama though. I still live in hope. I just don’t know about the hosting-problem they’ve got since stage6 removed all illegal videos.
