Leopard Seal Ravaging Penguin
Think again, dimwit.

The Leopard Seal is one hell of a penguin-killer. And what have the penguins ever done to you? Exactly. Nothing, that’s what. And that’s also the reason we should kill seals. Oh, and they make great and warm clothing too.

As always, I’m right. Try to prove me wrong.

    What are you an idiot? Its called the friggin circle of life. For example lions kill Gazelle and many other animal, and what have they ever done to us?? Nothing, exactly so does that give us the right to kill lions? No, and its the same deal with Leopard seals. They never did anything to us either.

    1. You are not an all powerful GOD so don’t say that people won’t be able to prove you wrong.
    2. It’s the f*cken CIRCLE OF LIFE, things die and things get eaten.
    3. You don’t NEED animal fur to live and there are cheaper things already.
    4. Penguins have attacked humans and the lovely people below me have proved so.
    5. The leopard seal is only one type seal, it doesn’t mean every single seal is, as you say, a “killer” and I put it like that because you are also a killer, how much meat do you eat? You wear fur too no? So why aren’t people behind you saying humans suck because they massacre animals.

    Zakura was completely correct in what they said. But I’d like to add another thing to:

    All species of plants and animals (Excluding us for the most part, just for the sake of this), rely on one another for the environment to stay in balance. Believe it or not, by killing one species, you very much affect the populations of other species there as well. For example, it all Leopard seals were exterminated, the penguin population (It’s main source of food), will rapidly climb. Orcas eat penguins too, but not as much as Leopard seals do (And plus, Killer whales are the Leopard seal’s only real natural enemy). Orcas rely on seals mainly for food. If the penguin population begins to multiply rapidly, then there will be too many penguins in the ecosystem, and the carrying capacity will be breached. When that happens, the ecosystem will not be able to sustain such a large population of penguins, and their population will being to drop rapidly (due to overcrowding and starvation), and they might never recover from it. And if that happens, the orca population will be affected as well, since they do feed on penguins. If the orca population becomes affected, then all the prey animals that orcas feed on (Weddell seals, for example), will multiply rapidly as well. It will become a vicious cycle that will not end until all the indigenous species in that area are gone.

    In the end, the entire populations of entire species will be very much affected. And that is the last thing nature needs. So, all in all, let nature be.

    Well, we are all humans (I assume) so we do (and should) see it from our own perspective. Take Norway for example. The usual argument for marine mammal hunting is that if we don’t regulate the populous of seals and whales they will eat all the fish.

    This is not exactly true. They will eat more fish, yielding a less amount of fish for us. But we also need fish.

    Hence why there’s competition. While I will say that competition in reasonable amounts is fine, overdoing it and driving another species to extinction is not what’s supposed to happen. Healthy competition amongst species is fine, because it keeps nature balanced. However, if you end up driving a species to become Endangered, Critically Endangered, or Extinct, then the competition has gone too far.

    The seal-penguin relationship is just another examble of the symbiotic prey-predator relationship. Without the penguin, the leopard seal could not survive, and this is also true vice versa. The penguin population depends on their predator the seal to keep their population below their carrying capacity. Because, if they reach this capacity and began to exceed it, they will, inevitably, die out and possibly come extinct. A lot of penguins with less than 3% of their population killed a year or no penguins at all. Which is the more humane choice?
