Charity Presents Trend 2007

As we all know, life was and still is bad for alot of poor and starving people in the world. Christmas is the time for people like us – rich, well-fed and already got a 2.4Ghz box running a Linux server – to reach out and give something of value. For instance, last year, the presents trend was to give an animal to someone who needed it. More specifically, a goat.

Now everyone can agree that it’s a good idea, but wait! Hang on there just a minute. When will this charity trend end? I mean, come on! What’s next? I know it’s great with a goat and all (got two tied to my bed at the moment, for nightly pleasures), but what does a goat require in order to live? Grass to eat, clean water to drink and, last but not at fucking least, a shelter from bad weather/cold/whatnot. If these people are so poor that they can’t afford a goat, how can they afford to own a house/shelter? And if they can’t shelter the goat, wouldn’t that be something we should report to the WSPA and similar groups? It’s not like I want to give someone a goat, or any other animal, and be happy about them torturing the little fella. I’d be furious and at least demand my money back from the seller.

Then again, what if the people can house the darn goat (oh man, I’m hating it already!)? What’s for christmas this year, or next? I mean, we can’t go around throwing goats all over the place – soon they’ll be running their own international goat milk industries! It’s about time someone actually gave them something they should wish for christmas:

A PlayStation 3 with 60GB harddrive and a wireless controller. Nuff said.
