Age of Conan release delayed

It is like this: Blizzard is releasing Wrath of the Lich King somewhere near March/April (I believe), and it would not, I repeat, would not be a good idea to try and release another MMO around then. You’d be better off releasing it before, or even better a month or two after. When the 24/7-players are level 80, with all new tier-something gear and are just waiting for new patches and shit.

Funcom must think like that, because they’ve just delayed their flagship-game Age of Conan for another 8 weeks, and I quote:

The highly anticipated MMO receives 8 more weeks of development, allowing Funcom to deliver a more polished MMO experience when the game launches on the 20th of May 2008.

Now that’s annoying, sad and strategic in one move. Also the stock price for Funcom (OSE) dropped at the moment the news was published. Personally I think it’s time to watch the stocks, as it would be great to own a few of them before the game is released. Then again you could just lose the money if the game doesn’t deliver as promised. Either way, it’s the gamers that gets …uhm…hurt?
