The CSS 8-Bit Mario

As there’ve been some astounding and creative “CSS-arts” out there, I too wanted to create something simple yet awesome, with CSS. It took some time figuring what was awesome and simple at the same time.

Then, in a daydream while at work, it came to me: 8-bit Mario from Super Mario Bros. to the NES. To summarize it, here’s my 8-bit Mario:

Quick facts

  • 210 divs, 12 blocks in each row
  • 5 different classes, only 1 has more than one css-property
  • 3 different colours: #ff0700, #ff9f1c and #805600 + white
  • Tested in IE6/7, FF2 and Opera 8+

I know this one ain’t hard to do at all, but when I searched for CSS 8-bit Mario I didn’t get any results so I thought “Why not?” and made it. Now I need more coffee before I get back to real work. Making long-and-bad-structured documents readable for the web. I guess I should’ve brought a sleeping bag…
