I Hate Apple Fanboys

Posted on May 30th, 2008 - 9:56 pm - 26 comments

Since I ain’t one, I treat myself with a chocolate or a good cup of coffee. What’s really interesting about all the Apple fanboys of out there, is that they just can’t see that they’re buying themselves into a trend.

You don’t agree? What?! Oh, dear God. That means you’re one of them:
Damn those fanboys!

But statistics shows that Mac has less security holes Windows!

That may be so, but then again it does not show what kind of security holes the Mac got. If the MacBook would’ve only had one security hole, one which made the MB grow hands and a dick so it could fuck you over, I believe Apple and it’s army of fanboys still would push it on all non-Apple people.

Then again, Linux is even more secure than Mac, but people don’t try to push that on you, do they?

What do you got against the fanboys?

Nothing and everything at all. I’m tired of hearing them blabbering about ohh-how-great Apple is. I don’t care and that’s why I get annoyed when they (fanboys) try to push it unto you with great force and sweating excitation.

I’ve seen a lot of people wearing the Think Different t-shirts, and I’ve one thing and one thing only to say to you: Yes, I do think different. That’s why I don’t go around advertising for a company that makes zombies out of customers.

What made you so angry today?

Alot. But my anger reached a new level when I read some of the comments on a forum. It was a guy who wouldn’t have it that a PC could be as good and even better than a Mac, and still be less expensive. He just couldn’t seem to grasp it, at all.

God damn think-he’s-trendy moccha-latté-drinking son of a bitch.

That, and I was awaken two hours before I had to, thanks to the neighbours that lives below me. And remember kids: Mac’s are Bad. That’s all for today, folks!

  1. I was born with Pc, so I stick to it. I don’t want to buy a Mac because it’s a new trend.
Neither do I want to buy a linux because I have no reasons for why I want one.
Even so if Mac is a trend, doesn’t mean Mac is a bad machine. It’s good for editing softwares like; Maya, Adobe series, Final cut, etc.
When It comes to security, I don’t really care there either.
I’ve got 2 security softwares on my pc, which are both for free, and downloadable, and it seems to go pretty well with it.

I’m not trying to tell which machine is best.
I wouldn’t say Mac is a trend either, but rather say Iphone, Ipod, etc is more of a trend than the Mac itself.
Arguing about what’s best and what’s not, is a waste of time.
I bet they pretty much look like this as well

  2. koew:

You don’t care when it comes to securing your data and personal information? And I’m not just talking about your highly organized folders of porn, mind you.

But you’re right, arguing about what’s best and what’s not is a real waste of time. Especially since we all know that Linux will rule the world in the year 2042.

  3. Macs were the first to go on the latest blackhat conference exploiting null day security holes. But that’s nothing against the machine, only the OS. Which MANY MAC USERS CAN’T SEEM TO SEPARATE FROM THEIR HARDWARE. Jesus. Jesus thinks mac is gay.

  4. Better yet: not just ipods

  5. No I don’t care. Even if they want my super awesome hot porn peeing on each other, while taking a huge dump.
And yes, I don’t care about the føkkings awesome security systemx10.

    P.s

    Porn is my private data.

    The discussion continues…
I love computers, Windows, OS X or Linux. I’ve always been using windows, but half a year ago I got a mac. I’m not one of those geeks that go around and know everything and nothing about the systems and what they are built on or whatever. As long as it works for me I’m happy.
From a neutral point of view I think OSX is nice and it really works smoothly. It’s what I call eyecandy. Windows really is a great OS too. I have to have Windows through boot camp because of compatibility-problems with some kind of software (games). There are some guys that say this and that about OSX, that it never hangs or anything. The reality is: programs hang… But you’ve always got an opportunity to restart the program. You never have to reboot. But still, Windows is in my heart and I feel some kind of invisible limit around me when I’m using OSX. This limit have shrunk by time to be honest. Maybe it’s because I’ve lost the grip on what I’m missing, or just have learned how to use OSX. I don’t know..

Anyways, I think I stick to my mac as long as I can run Windows or Linux when I have to:) It’s not a question about hardware anylonger, it’s software, dude;)

  7. koew:

That’s quite the liberal view on the subject, I’d say. And of course, If I really wanted to work with video editing or digital designs, I’d probably do it on a Mac. It’s not the Mac itself I’m raging at, it’s the fanboys who just can’t shut up about it.

It’s like a guy bragging about eating spaghetti all the time. And spaghetti rocks, but it doesn’t get any better thanks to the bragging guy. Damn I love spaghetti.

  8. Absentsoul: That’s quite a shallow and ignorant viewpoint, IMHO.

If it’s the OS you are after, why not download FreeBSD or OpenBSD? After all, Mac OS is a closed-source BSD spin-off. You have no argument, then, for running a Mac machine twice as expensive as the same PC version, which you can fill with whatever OS you want to, including OSX (virtual, or lookalike).

Any machine and any software is prone to error, bugs and whatnot. PCs do not restrict you from finding a solution. Apple demands your money for solving a problem with their software (you’re merely licensed to use it). And when they are at fault, producing faulty hardware, you will only get ignored. Go take a reality check. Buying a Mac is like taking it up the ass for a plastic apple logo.

  9. koew:

This quote is just so priceless (from the latest stream, I believe):
Jobs explained that Apple didn’t want applications running (on the iPhone) in the background, because it’d suck out the battery power and make the phone slower.
And the dialogue went like this:

Fanboy: But Steve, it’s nice with 3G, but the phone doesn’t have multitasking?
Steve: That’s because we don’t want it to have multitasking. *does Jedi mind trick wave*
Fanboy: Oh, that’s so fantastic! You guys think on everything! May I wash your ass with my tongue?

  10. Francis:

Fanboys are willing to buy overpriced, badly ventilated machines, that are essentially PC’s (intel chips, OS based on FreeBSD etc…) and then brag about it. It’s sort of funny actually. Not to mention they are stuck with their hardware setup where as us “poor PC” users can open up our cases and upgrade to the latest and greatest without waiting for Mr. Jobs ok. I can’t believe how many tech posers there are out there who actually feel they have to buy a new mac everytime apple decides to come up with a new line up.

Even this Ipod 3g nonsense gets me. If you have a gen 1… and it works for you, why would you get the new phone for what amounts to more money (AT&T’s rediculous contract or Rogers if you’re in Canada) for the same phone? It’s only a little better… 3G isn’t available everywhere yet. The GPS isn’t turn by turn, mainly because they won’t allow it?? It’s such a closed system… I’m sure it will get better sometime in the future when apps start rolling out… but for right now it’s just a toy. A pretty toy mind you.

To each his own I suppose…

  11. koew:

Good arguments you’ve got there, Francis. One of those things which gets me going, is the iPhone-is-better-than-any-cellphone arguments. Two words in reply: not true. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from playing around with both the iPhone and iPod Touch, is that the touch-keyboard sucks. If you’re used to tactile feedback, especially if you can write without looking, you’re in for a surprise with the iPhone/iPodt Touch.

I had several failures when I tried to type in http://koew.net/ on the iPod Touch. The skinny keyboard buttons and my fingers didn’t co-op well. Or at all.

  12. Apple is cool. Is this years fashion. And we dont want to look like dorks do we? Lets all buy macs!

  13. Anonymous:

Apple is going to be in trouble someday. Just like Sony did. It’s a trend, then they price themselves out by overcharging for basically a computer which is probably the same value as any other. But the thing Sony did have was actually better products (back in the day). Don’t worry, with people with little money to overspend, the trendiness will soon disappear. I recently purchased Toshiba notebook for $599. I haven’t had a better computer which have included Macs.

  14. applehatter256:

All be quick and to the point. MAC SUCKS. I am so tired of those stupid bull commercials about how macs are so this lie and this lie and how were all awesome. psh. Macs cant do crack right. They dont work. Guess what? out of the 18 computers i have, the two that are macs DONT WORK! the rest, which are not apple based, WORK LIKE THEY SHOULD!! If you want a good computer, build one. Get parts from people you know well, you can often get them cheaper. Use Linux. Its free and has more power and flexibility than most OSs(including all versions of Macintosh you stupid mac zombers). If your good, you can get a nice and fast computer, with all the software you could want, and for a small fraction of one of those underpowered macs. I am forced to use those things at school, and they are slow and have serious application problems. Ok il just save this…. DOH! this application quit unexpectedly. Apple says up yours. Screw you mac. You cheap and sorry excuses for computers are NOT trendy, they are NOT useful, and they ARE NOT COOL! All of them! from those crappy iSnobs to those crappier Macs, you all suck bawls. Apple sucks, but it acts like its better than you.
I hate Mac. We all do, plain and simple.

    –Applehatter#256

  15. PUK:

Apple and Macs are gay. Plain and simple. Fanboys are soooo irritating. And WTFs with the Apple iPad? What a closed and crippled POS that is!

    Applehater#2573423

  16. I own a Mac, but that’s about it. I am no fanboy, and I too hate them. Though there are just about as many Windows fanboys as there are Mac fanboys. Not to mention Linux. I prefer Linux over anything, but listening to 15-years old who just discovered Ubuntu is quite the pain in the ass. “Linux rulz and Windows sucks!!! I have turned on desktop effects and my desktop is a 3-D cube, can your Windows do that??”

And the other way around. “Linux is too hard and you can’t do shit on it. OMG you can’t even play games on Linux.” Wow. Just had a flashback of reading arguments like that on forums. And YouTube.

So like I said, I can’t stand fanboys of any kind. But generally I would just like people to shut up and use their computer the way they like.

    Just my opinion.

  17. yonose:

    Totally agree with Thomas.

Fanboys of any kind must be destroyed :)

  18. koew:

That may be the right attitude, yonose, if you include the exception of koew-fanboys. Without you guys, I’d still be talking to myself. And let’s face it: if you’re reading this, you’re already a fanboy. I love you.

  19. not-fanboy:

Agree, why pay more than double for a Mac than a PC? It feels just stupid.

  20. Jim:

Think different. It’s such an ironic slogan.

  21. macbasher:

Above comment is so funny because its so very true.

  22. Carlton Banks:

Really… Apparently the apple folks have got your number, and at the end of the day that is all that really matters. Honestly though I have never really understood the whole OS debat thing. It’s right up there with the rednecks watching Nascar and arguing over whether a Chevy or Ford will win the race, so whats that say about someone who has gone the length of making a website to argue the vary topic?

  23. Todd:

Try to move a Mac Pro monitor more than 4 feet from the machine. Say, to put it under a desk. Wait! What? The God damned cord on the monitor is only 4 feet long? And there are no extension cables available in the known universe or on the vastly larger internet to change that?

That’s OK because we want to make sure our monitors and over-priced, under performing Mac Pros look pretty on the desks in our Art Department. You know, the department where pretentious little girls and gay boys swoon all over their cute silver machines while pretending they work for a fashion magazine. Never mind they’re literally designing labels for rags, tape and industrial drop cloths. A girl can dream can’t she? Made all the easier by a lit up apple on the back of a monitor. That’s where the extra $500 went for that damned 27″ display: the LED for the fucking apple. Why didn’t I realize this sooner. Good thing we dropped over 6 grand a workstation. God for fucking bid that they don’t have a little bright apple to light up the day.

Now time to recreate the users account on the domain AGAIN in Snow Leopard so Entourage will work. Hmmm, looks like the god forsaken, piece of shit keychain is corrupted AGAIN. Well that’s OK, I’ll just invoke some of that solid Apple security and remove the users domain policy requirement to change her network password every 60 days, violating HIPPA, since Apple can’t seem to keep the fucking passwords in sync using this marvelous keychain bullshit. Look around – NO known resolution to this recurring shit except – guess what – recreate the damn user account. Apple support (oxy moron by morons) can’t do a damn thing about it.

But we’re all good because these silver boxes look great and they keep snobby ass, artsy fartsy bitches happy in their superiority complexes.

  24. For Carlton Banks:

    Sir…

Whilst trying to appear intelligent (at least in your faux-elitist, redneck-disapproving way), it’s best to attempt proper spelling and punctuation, so as to actually APPEAR intelligent; and thusly, be taken seriously. And yes – it DOES matter, even on the Internet. For instance, Todd, who posted immediately following you, does so quite eloquently. Therefore, I have a level of respect for him. Perhaps you should take notes.

And God forbid (yes I used the word God – sorry if that disturbs your Area-51 alien- or Alinsky-esque gods) that anyone should put up a website that contradicts your beliefs.

Your kind is tired. And, I will add, not taken seriously anymore. The glitterati. “Look at me – I’m cool. I’m important. I own all the trendy trinkets!” It’s all about “i” in your world. How ironic it is that you swoon over trendy trinkets whose names all begin with said vowel.

Please, do indulge us all… Hop in your smoke-and-mirrors-powered hybrid, drive to the local latte shop and grab another hot, steaming cup of self-deprecating White Guilt. I’m sure, while you’re queued up with the rest of the hot, trendy sheep, you’ll be disappointed at finding they don’t offer an iCroissant to go with your tasty beverage. And, naturally, while you’re doing all of the above, you will be fiddling mercilessly with your iPhone, so as to try to appear relevant. Of course, we all know the truth – you are IRRELEVANT. You are the WEAK. Please – take your “tolerance-my-way” self elsewhere if you cannot stomach another’s opinion.

I find it humorous that Apple products all begin with “i”, and that their fanboys’ thought processes all seem to begin with said vowel as well.

In parting, I should assure you that there are plenty of so-called “rednecks”, which possess much greater intellects than yours. I know several that could paint you into a corner, verbally (or otherwise), in short order.

“Now go away, or I shall taunt you a second time!”

  25. Cpt:

I still don’t know why its PC vs. Mac when every computer you by for personal use is a PC (Personal Computer). So it should be Windows PC vs. Apple PC. I guess the world is to short worded or they only listen to what the tv tells them.

  26. Ryan:

Definitely true! Check out my tribute to Apple fanboys at http://www.youtube.com/watch?nomobile=1&v=Aq3OIBmbG60
