The police case have finally been shut down. If it wasn’t for all the media attention, who’d really care anyways? Come to think of it, the little girl might’ve been released by her “hostages” if the media’s lenses wasn’t so focused on her.
The “Finding Madeleine” fund (through their website) raised a lot of money - though no income amount has been reported. The family’s wealth was also an issue, as if it were a poor family’s kid who’d been kidnapped, there’d probably only be a short notice in the newspaper.
Someone knew who to contact and what cogwheels to smear with oil, and that someone was the McCann’s. Of course I might be proven wrong about this, but I do not believe it would’ve gotten this much attention by accident or by itself.
Worldwide newspapers sold a lot thanks to the little girl’s vanishing, and “everyone” suddenly seemed to care about little “Maddie” - although there’s people, kids especially, suffering and dying of starvation every single day.
If “Maddie” ain’t dead she’s locked in someone’s basement somewhere far away from Portugal. It’s been over a year since she was reported missing by her parents. When it comes to kidnapping cases, the first twenty-four hours are the most important ones - since the evidence/material is most fresh.
After a year it’s time to give it up. The McCann family should move on, remember and cherish the good moments and try to make their lives the best it can get. I, for one, am tired of reading about the “probable” whereabouts and the latest gossip on who killed her. Let it be, and focus on other immediate problems, such as starvation.
That’s my view on the case. I’ll not write another post about it either.
