Zack and Miri Makes a Mediocre Movie?

Seriously, is it only me or do you have to be really drunk or high to watch a comedy in the movies these days?

I’m talking first and foremost of Kevin Smith’s “Zack and Miri Makes a Porno”, which I’ve just come home from viewing. Some people left during the middle of the film, but I stood strong and survived. Not a particulary funny movie though.

Okay I admit it: I laughed. But the reasons I laughed was either because of

1. a guy with a funny snickering laugh three rows in front of me, or
2. a teenager who said “Awesome!” everytime tits where shown.

The audience couldn’t agree more with me there. I can’t believe what Kevin Smith has been doing the last years. I mean, Clerks II still had some jive in it, some force that made it seeable (viewable, whatever).

I’m just annoyed that the hopes the trailers you’re fed today seems more interesting than the movie itself. Right before the featured film, we were shown a trailer for Fanboys The Movie, which I’d rather see since it’s filled with both Star Wars and Star Trek references! (Check out the trailer, seriously)

I’d still like to see how Red State develops, and if it’s as dark and psycotic as mister Smith describes in his blog. Probably not, but who knows but him, right?

I’m tired and $12 poorer than I was a couple of hours ago. I’ll turn of my Comic Book Guy rant for now, but I might be back one sunny ass day.
