In general, I visit Digg for easy entertainment and short laughs. Sometimes I stumble upon links that people call moving, or touching. Like this Brenden Foster kid. He’s dead now.
Brenden Foster is a fairytale creature of a boy, who got diagnosed with leukemia a couple of years back. He then spent his last remaining years mostly in bed, feeling sorry for homeless people and bees. People praised the 11-year old boy for being so mature. So all it takes to grow up is leukemia, eh?
He doesn’t see the big picture, at all. Since he himself couldn’t go around doing charity, other people (friends, family and such) did. But what good did that do, besides feeding the homeless for a day or two? This is where it ticks for me, and I get all raving mad.
Does it matter if a homeless can wipe his ass with fresh, new toilet paper for a week? He’ll still be homeless. If he’s fed for a week he doesn’t stay fed the next one, alright? Get the point? A fed homeless with packs of toilet paper is still homeless, that’s what I’m saying. If he, Brenden, were to make a change, he’d critizise the social care of the society he lived in. Then he’d be mature.
Yeah he is, or was. And then again people who felt moved by this video forget one tiny fact: He was diagnosed with leukemia. If he hadn’t been diagnosed and would’ve been healthy fat kid instead, he’d probably forget all about the homeless in a week. The video even mentions how strong he was to get out of bed and go buy a video game. The logic is this: don’t go and meet the homeless you’ve worked so hard for, treat yourself instead. You’ve done your deed, and next is Boobieland in Heaven, eh?
You upload a movie on the Internet and they want hippie, God-loving responses in return? Hello! This is THE INTERNET we’re talking about for Jeeves’ sake! If there’s someone who’ll get my respect by uploading a video on the Internet, it’s the damn 2girls1cup-girls! Let’s not forget about goatse-man or Maddox either. Yeah, why don’t you get in line, Brenden? Whups, I forgot, you’re dead.
Check out the video and decided for yourself: Did he move you, or is this another commercial for toilet paper?
Don’t forget to digg all the upcoming stories of starving children in Africa! Enough of this chit-chat, I need to sleep. School tomorrow and homeless to feed, eh? Right.

Nice to see a kid who doesn’t only think about himself. But like you say, build a man a fire and he’ll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he’ll be warm for the rest of his life.

This little boy has changed my life and it is people like you that make this world stay the same ugly place that it is. If there were more people like Brenden in this world it wouldn’t be such a terrible place. If this were your child you would feel differently. He has touched the heart of so many people and all your doing is trying to take peoples faith in humanity away from them. The worst thing in the world is to rob people of hope. May God be with you and transform your life and heart the way God and Brenden have mine. I love you Brenden and may God hold you in his arms. Rest in peace.

What a cock-muncher…you, not the angelic kid. Yeah the kid is a real devil because he wanted a video game two days before his little body expired. Cheese and fucking rice, some dolts are clueless ass wipes (that is you, again)
Yeah, what an idiot kid that at age 11 doesn’t have a full grasp of the roots of our societal woes to address them head on in a manner that is pleasing to some anonymous internet hack who breaks from the vitrolic posts for a 15 minute break to chow some cheese doodles and to tug his little johnson to she-male porn.

how dare u say anything so stupid about a heartfelt child who thought of someone other than himself. which would you rather, stupid- ass, for him to wish to go to disney land or wish for money? you should be ashamed of yourself to post such ignorance about someone you didnt have the pleasure of meeting. even feeding the homeless for a day is more than what some people have given in their entire lives. and then there are retarted bastards like you, who contribute to this world’s devestation. you must be some dum nut who doesnt think before speaking. you must live such a lame life that you have to bash the dignity of a young child, who died after doing something to benifit others. i pray that god has mercy on your very being, you stupid fool. you low life nobody. good luck to you and your misery! shame on you. your site shouldnt be allowed!

Jen: First of all, God doesn’t exist. Sorry, I don’t believe in him, so if that’s where Brenden is going, good for him. For me, that just means six feet under, alright? Second, if this was my child I’d be taking it differently, of course. I’d get him to play through Final Fantasy 7 before he went. And maybe rent him some strippers.
Tyler Child: Do I know you? How did you know about my porn? Who’s the REAL hacker here, I wonder…
ladyt: Yeah, if he’d wished for a boatload of cash it’d be awesome. He could, like, swim in it like a killer whale. Just jumping up and down in that green shit and be all, like, happy. If you’re dying you got better things to do than feed the homeless, alright? What kind of help do you do on your weekends? Or do you just donate to some fund and feel all good and mighty about yourself, eh? Seriously.

Keow, Way to take on “society” and its glaring hypocrisies. It seems you found a task equal to your mental capacity; an 11 year old, frightened at his pending death and wanting to help in his lovingly simple and childish understanding of the world. Expose that hypocritical shit Keow. Way to employ those clever observations of yours. Kudos all around.
This jaded selfish prick went and took my three boys to donate a car full of food to our local food bank. It may not do shit, but at least for now, this day, someone will have something to eat.
As for the porn, I figured you probably like what the same shit that Jeffrey Dahmer was into.

I find it hard to believe I get criticized by people who should be outside helping the homeless. Why are you yelling at me for, anyways? I’m just pointing out Brenden Foster’s inability to see that the homeless will still be homeless after he dies. Just like the starving children in Africa, they don’t go away if you throw soup at them for a week, you know? There’s more to it than that.
Jeffrey was a badass motherfucker, I believe. I can’t imagine why he ain’t in heaven right now.

Koew. You are probably a decent human being blessed with a healthy dose of skepticism. The Jeffrey Dahmer thing was a lame crack on my part, as I am sure you like the very same porn that I do. I saw a young frightened boy who was trying to be noble in the face of death at the tender age of 11. To his mind, he was doing the only thing he could to try and help others. For myself, it wasn’t so much feeding the homeless for a day, but the selfless desire to just help others given that it was his last wish before dying, dying before he even had a chance to live. Now, let out your human side and just give up that good cry you have been fighting back. -smile-

keow, brenden is an eleven year old kid with a desire to live his last two weeks. give him some respect as much as you want to be respected. being eleven means he still has so much to go through and so much to learn, so bad he never got to physically grow up. his simple wish might not be enough to end hunger and homelessness but he has left an imprint of a SELFLESS and DYING YOUNG BOY. For you to say that he should look at the “bigger picture”, YOU SHOULD BE THE ONE DOIN THAT. you’re strong enough to post such comments on his acts of kindness then why don’t you do just that, you know, look at the big picture and do something like what brenden did. i doubt that you would be in your grave in the next few years so you have more time to do what he has done. when i was eleven i only knew that being homeless is something i wouldn’t wanna be and nothing more. see, people like you are supposed to set an example for children as young as brenden to know what kind of world they live in and what kind of help would matter most. when you were eleven, did you try to do anything to move hundreds and thousand of people to help the way brenden did? if you would be honest enough to say that you were out all day playing with your toys and whatever it is that you liked doing most, that would be okay. you were only eleven back then, too young to be bothered by such nuances that grown up people like i deal with everyday. and no, it didn’t take lukemia for brenden to grow up. he just happened to be too sick to go on and do more. you know if i were him i would’ve wished for all the video games in the world i would have broken all the windows in all the houses i would pass through. i’m dying anyway so why should i care about other people? is that how you want brenden to have thought? i don’t think that brenden is as selfish as you. you should grow up.. if lukemia is the only way for you to mature the way he did, then i think you should be diagnosed with it.

You have got to be the devil himself. I can see you burning in hell, you sorry excuse for a human being. Oh wait, maybe you are jealous of the attention Brenden got from the whole nation and you are some ugly, spineless, psycho, who probably got beaten up a lot a school. Let me guess, you spend endless hours with your best friend, a computer. I hate you and all dumb ass idiots just like you.

Koewisadouche!:
You’re a fucking dipshit. This kid is one of FEW people in this world who didn’t think about himself. Sure the homeless will still be homeless, but people acted on this boys wishes and donated food that they probably wouldn’t have done otherwise.
This world will be better when YOU are 6 feet under, what a worthless piece of shit you are.

There’s a good point, Koewisadouche!: Why should people do something like this just because a dying boy makes a wish? Why not do it all the time, without the need for a leukemia-diagnosed boy to say something?
How do you know that Brenden was one of FEW people in this world who didn’t think about himself? How about Beijing, consisting of about 17 million people, who gave used subway cars to shelter the homeless? Now that’s something, and it didn’t need any dying Brenden either.

but those people acted only when brenden was dying. the point here is, if you were a young boy and you knew you were dying in a couple days time.. you would have wished for all the worldly things boys your age would like to have. i mean yeah, you’re right in saying that poeple should not wait for something like this to do whatever they should be doing to help the needy. have you done anything lately? i mean, if brenden was given a longer time and more strength, he probably would have gone to the needy himself. why don’t you get out of your chair and feed the homeless yourself?
