SC2-rumor becomes StarCraft MMO!

As I found out, while being totally drunk, when I came home this morning, the rumour of StarCraft 2 being announced at Blizzard’s WWI (World Wide Invitational) 19th of May have turned out a tad misleading. Remember I talked about Blizzard having said that all games released by them after WoW, would be MMOs, right? Well thanks to this site called computerandvideogames.com there seems to be a verification in the rumour on a StarCraft MMO. Just check out this quote:

The long-rumoured new instalment of Blizzard’s massive StarCraft series is set to be unveiled later this month - and it’s another massively-multiplayer online game in the style of World of Warcraft, CVG can reveal.

Well placed US sources have revealed to us that the StarCraft MMO will be unveiled at an upcoming Blizzard event on May 19 in South Korea - the epicentre of the sci-fi RTS series’ rabid fandom.

The unveiling of the new instalment has previously been rumoured for the South Korea event, though we now know that the title is in fact an online spin-off and not a new RTS game as previously assumed.

For me this is a bit saddening news, as an MMO requires so much time just to experience the high-level content. And these days time is a precious measurement of day/night, whereas I haven’t even eaten anything and it’s 18:20 o’clock here! Anyways, was hoping for a totally new game, or maybe a follow-up for either StarCraft (as RTS) or Warcraft 3. Though you can’t be 100% sure yet, we gotta wait till May 19th.
